Avalanche Feature – Turn 1 Paid Spin into 5+ Free Re-spins

This is your bread and butter in Gonzo’s Quest.

It has inspired many iGaming developers, although it’s the IGT powered Da Vinci Diamonds that was one of the first to use a similar feature. So what is it all about?

First of all, there are only 7 low—high paying symbols. And instead of spinning, the symbols (called gargoyles) just fall from above, creating an avalanche (or cascade as it’s also called). Then each time you trigger a winning combo, the symbols implode. The empty spaces are then filled with existing and new symbols that fall from above. Quite simple, right?

This, in turn, creates a re-spin with new symbol positions at the cost of the first spin. That said, the most you can win for 5 of a kind is 2,500 coins or 25x bet. Wilds are in the mix as well, although they don’t have a coin value of their own.

And this is just a start as now it’s time to introduce you to the Avalanche multipliers.

Avalanche Multipliers – Win x5 Multiplier on Each Re-spin

It’s not only the free re-spins that you get but Avalanche Multipliers too. You can see them at the top right of the game and here’s what they are all about:

• 1^st Avalanche – x1 multiplier
• 2^nd Avalanche – x2 multiplier
• 3^rd Avalanche – x3 multiplier
• 4^th+ Avalanche – x5 multiplier.

That means, each spin after the 4^th re-spin is worth 5x more than usual. This action continues until there are no more wins left in view. Or till you trigger the right combo and enter the following feature.

Gonzo’s Quest Free Spins or Free Falls Bonus with Re-trigger

Free Falls, in the Gonzo’s world, is the other word for Free Spins. To win at least 10 of them you have to look for 3x Golden Gargoyles. Unlike regular Scatters, these have to appear in succession from the leftmost reel/column.

It’s quite difficult to trigger, but here’s the good news. According to the official stats, during the bonus players are 2x as likely to win the 1^stavalanche, and almost 4x as likely to get the 2^nd avalanche as well. And the probability only gets better with each re-trigger, in relation to the main game that is.

Free Falls Multiplier – During Bonus Wins are Worth up to 15x more

The Free Falls Multiplier is the key to the 600,000-coin Gonzo’s Quest slot jackpot.

As you can see from the image below, the multiplier values are way different in the bonus than they are in the base game.

In fact, the magnifiers are now 3x as high as they were initially:

• 1st Avalanche – x3 multiplier
• 2nd Avalanche – x6 multiplier
• 3rd Avalanche – x9 multiplier
• 4th+ Avalanche – x15 multiplier.

Based on that, all wins are at least tripled.
